2. COMMUNICATION IS KEY

If you have questions about an artwork or potential purchase, or have specific packing/shipping requests, don't hesitate to message the artist directly.

3. BE PROMPT

Respond to seller messages so they can get your order to you as quickly as possible! Be sure to check shipping confirmations and mark your order as received once you have it.

4. KNOW THE RETURN WINDOW

Changed your mind? You have until your order ships to cancel. Once your order is complete, there are no refunds.

5. SUPPORT THE ARTISTS YOU LOVE!

WHAT IS CFM ART MARKETPLACE?

CfM Art Marketplace is a friend-to-friend platform that connects art lovers with original artworks created and sold directly by artists. Whether you're a seasoned collector or a first-time buyer, CfM Art Marketplace is a trusted space to discover and purchase unique pieces by artists working today! CfM Art Marketplace is administered by Case for Making, a small studio supply shop founded on the deep belief that everyone is creative.


DO I NEED AN ACCOUNT TO BUY ART?

Yes. To ensure secure transactions and communication, you’ll need to create a free account to make purchases, message sellers, and check in on your orders.

To create an account, click Sign Up in the menu bar and fill out the pop up form. Once the form is submitted, you’ll receive an email verification request. Click the button to verify your email, and you’ll be all set to begin browsing artworks!


WHAT KIND OF ART CAN I FIND ON CFM ART MARKETPLACE?

CfM Art Marketplace was created by Case for Making, so we of course love art that features watercolors! But this is not all you'll find on our platform! CfM Art Marketplace supports any original artworks, including paintings, drawings, illustrations, mixed media work, and small sculptures—and every piece is listed directly by the artist.


HOW DO I PURCHASE A PIECE?
  1. Browse all artworks, or search for art using filters such as category, size, color or themes.
  2. Click on a listing to see full details.
  3. Click “Buy Now” and follow the simple checkout steps! To streamline this process, we recommend filling out your profile details and preferred payment options before you buy.
  4. If the item will be picked up in California or shipped to a California address, please make sure to check the box! CfM Art Marketplace is obligated to collect and remit sales tax on any items sold/shipped to California.
  5. The seller will approve the order and ship the item. You’ll receive email alerts with updates, and you can message the seller anytime via your CfM Art Marketplace inbox.
  6. Once you receive your order, please check your inbox, open the transaction thread, and click the blue button that says “I’ve Received my Order.” This ensures that the seller gets paid promptly.
  7. Love what you received or have constructive feedback? You’re welcome to leave a review once your purchase is complete!

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY PURCHASE?

CfM Art Marketplace accepts secure payments through Stripe. All major credit/debit cards are supported. Your payment is held securely and only released to the seller once the transaction is complete or confirmed.


IS MAY PAYMENT INFORMATION SAFE?

Yes. CfM Art Marketplace uses secure, PCI-compliant payment processing via Stripe. Your card details are never stored on our servers.


HOW DOES SHIPPING WORK?

Each seller sets their own shipping options and prices. They are responsible for:

  • Packing the artwork securely
  • Shipping it within the communicated timeframe
  • Providing tracking info (if available)
  • Shipping times and methods vary based on the seller’s location and chosen delivery option. If you have questions, you can message the seller anytime via your CfM Art Marketplace inbox.

CAN I PICK UP ARTWORK IN PERSON?

Yes, if the seller offers local pickup. You can message them to arrange details after your purchase is complete. Always meet in a safe, public place.


WHAT IF I WANT TO CANCEL MY ORDER?

Please contact the seller directly as soon as possible. Once the item has shipped, the order cannot be cancelled.


WHAT IS THE RETURN POLICY?

Since these are original works, sales are final once the item has shipped (check Sharetribe auto cancellations). Contact the seller immediately if a piece arrives damaged or doesn’t match the description; they might be able to provide an equivalent piece as a replacement.

We encourage buyers to read listings carefully before purchasing, and ask that everyone communicate from a place of mutual respect.


HOW CAN I CONTACT THE SELLER?

You can message the seller directly through the listing page, or from your CfM Art Marketplace inbox. Please use the messaging feature for questions about the artwork, shipping, or custom requests.


WHERE CAN I FIND DETAILS ABOUT MY TRANSACTIONS?

Transaction details are stored in your inbox, as part of your messages with sellers. Your messages are your CfM Art Marketplace record of your purchases and communications, and include a breakdown of your payments and shipping costs.

Your transaction details also include status alerts, such as outstanding reviews or reminders to mark purchased work as received. Be sure to check and promptly handle tasks to ensure smooth transactions.


WHAT HAPPENS IF THE SELLER DOESN'T SHIP MY ORDER / HOW DO I REPORT AN ISSUE?

If an artwork isn’t shipped within the stated timeframe or you’re unable to contact the seller, please email artmarketplace[at]caseformaking.com. We’ll investigate and issue a refund when applicable.

In your INBOX navigate to the purchase details and. click on “Dispute order” on the bottom right (does this message seller or administrator?)


CAN I COMMISSION A CUSTOM PIECE?

Some sellers may accept commissions. You can contact them through their profile or listing to discuss your idea, timeline and price. We ask that sellers list commissioned work on CfM Art Marketplace to complete the transaction, as the fees we collect help us keep the marketplace running.


HOW DO I LEAVE A REVIEW?

Once a transaction is complete, both the seller and buyer are prompted to share a review. You can find your reviews by viewing your profile page. Reviews support artists and help build trust within the community.


IS INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING AVAILABLE?

At this time, CfM Art Marketplace only operates within the United States.
